The Equine Rehabilitation Sanctuary is located in a beautiful part of South Africa. On this project you will become fully involved with the everyday lives of the horses, helping to care for them and rehabilitate them, helping them towards a better future. You will be able to experience the life of a horse rehabilitator and trainer in South Africa.
Volunteers will also assist in preparing the horses for and leading trail rides around the game reserve to track wildlife from horseback. There is an abundance of wildlife in the reserve – zebra, giraffe, antelope, rhino and several other species are regularly seen.
This project also presents a fabulous opportunity for Veterinary and Equine Studies students to get some hands-on practical experience with horses whilst experiencing African wildlife and life in the South African bush first hand.
