The Langkawi Island Adventure is based on Pulau Langkawi, the main island of the Langkawi Islands archipelago off the north-west coast of mainland Malaysia. The equestrian centre is expertly managed by a professional team whose love of horses and high level of horsemanship can be seen all around the yard.
The main activity at the project is trail riding, taking guests out on horseback to show them the stunning scenery that Langkawi has to offer. There are a huge variety of exciting rides and trails – from riding leisurely through the rainforest to fast gallops along golden coastlines and swimming in the Indian Ocean with the horses.
All the horses are all well cared for, lively, well bred, and most are specially selected from top-class breeders in Argentina. You will be able to muck in as part of the team, helping out with all the trail rides and activities with the horses, and get involved in the yard’s thriving sport horse stud.
Activities you will be involved in at the Project include:
- Lots and lots of riding!
- Feeding
- Assisting with trail rides and guiding
- Grooming, bathing and general daily horse care
- Feeding
- Working with foals and yearlings
- Helping out with breeding at the stud farm
- Helping the farrier and equine dentist
- Exercising and care of the horses
- Help with schooling and training of horses
- Feeding
What’s included:
- Accommodation
- Transfers to and from the airport
- All trail rides and riding activities
- Use of all tack and equipment for the horses
- Full support and guidance whilst overseas
What’s not included:
Project Location: Pulau Langkawi, the main island in the Langkawi Archipelago just off the north-west coast on mainland Malaysia.
Start Dates: First and third Monday of each month
Duration: Any length from one week to twelve months
