Mozambique Explorer
Mozambique

The Mozambique Explorer is designed to give all volunteers a unique insight into African life. You will explore the culture of Mozambique, develop your riding skills and make a real difference to the local communities. At this project you will develop a wealth of knowledge about equine management, improve your riding skills and experience real life in Africa.
Based over two locations you will experience life with horses both in the coastal town of Vilanculos on mainland Mozambique and also with their herd of horses on the pristine tropical paradise of Beguerra Island in Mozambique’s first National Marine Park. As well as working with horses you will experience azure waters, white sandy beaches, palm trees and pristine coral reefs. The snorkeling is superb and you are likely to spot whales, dolphins, turtles, and the only viable dugong population remaining in that part of the world.
The Mozambique Explorer offers the excellent opportunity to gain experience in horse riding and equine management in the unique setting of Mozambique. In addition to the work with the horses you will be introduced to the ‘real’ Africa, poverty and the problems faced by the communities in Mozambique, whilst exploring their unique culture and beautiful country. You will take away a wealth of new knowledge and appreciation for different cultures and this really will be a positive, life changing experience for everyone involved.
