The Ride 'n' Teach Challenge provides a once in a lifetime opportunity to live and work with horses and people in one of the most beautiful environments on this earth. You will spend your days outside in the African sunshine, surrounded by wildlife and horses.

The Ride 'n' Teach Challenge is all about learning to care for horses in the African bush and transferring your riding skills to others helping them to become better riders and to learn how rewarding horses can be.  This is a fantastic experience for anyone who is hoping to go into teaching or to acquire BHS exams or coaching skills. You will receive lots of practice at teaching a wide variety of people and working with horses in this unique setting. Escape the stuffy indoor school back home and get out into the fresh air of Africa!

     

Activities you will be involved in include:

  • Giving horse riding lessons to children and adults
  • Teaching groups and individuals
  • Giving stable management lessons to visitors
  • Teaching people about general horse care and management
  • Grooming, bathing and daily care of the farm’s horses
  • Feeding
  • Exercising and care of the horses
  • Help with schooling and exercising the horses
  • Assisting with any trail rides

 

Project Location:

Gorgeous rural area in the north-east of South Africa close to the world famous Kruger National Park
